Getting started with ScentXP

ScentXP is designed for fast, frictionless integration. Whether you’re a retailer, brand, or e-commerce platform, the setup follows the same pattern: connect your catalog, choose your integration path, and go live.

Step 1: Connect your catalog

Every ScentXP integration starts with a Product Feed — a CSV file containing the perfumes you sell, identified by EAN (barcode) codes. This is the foundation that ensures all recommendations, enrichment, and search results are scoped to your assortment. See Catalog Integration for the full specification.

Step 2: Choose your integration path

ScentXP offers three ways to integrate, depending on your technical needs and level of customization:

Widgets

Fastest path to go live. Pre-built web components for Fragrance Library, ScentBot, and Fragrance Profiler. Embed with a simple HTML snippet — already branded and ready to use. No development required.

API

Full control and customization. Your development team connects via API to integrate fragrance data directly into your own interface.

Shopify

Native app install. Fragrance Library and ScentBot are available as Shopify apps — install directly from the Shopify App Store with no code changes.

Widget integration

For widgets (Fragrance Library, ScentBot, Fragrance Profiler), ScentXP provides a script file and simple HTML tags. Once inserted into your website, the content appears automatically with your branding. No complex development or design changes required. See the ScentBot integration guide for detailed widget setup instructions.

API integration

For teams that need full control, the WikiParfum API provides a GraphQL interface to the entire olfactive intelligence platform. Your developers can build custom UIs, integrate fragrance data into existing product pages, and create bespoke recommendation flows.

Shopify integration

ScentBot and Fragrance Library are available as ready-to-use Shopify apps. Install from the Shopify App Store, connect your catalog, and the widgets appear on your store automatically.

Step 3: Go live

Implementation is remote and fast. ScentXP handles the setup, branding, and configuration. Once live, the system updates automatically — new launches, catalog changes, and product updates sync without manual intervention.

Plug & play

ScentXP technologies are designed as plug & play:
  • Remote setup — no on-site visits required for digital products
  • Automatic updates — catalog changes, new launches, and product updates sync in the background
  • No disruption — integration doesn’t require changes to your existing e-commerce infrastructure
  • Pre-branded — widgets come configured with your brand identity

Multi-language support

All ScentXP technologies support 25+ languages. Content — ingredient names, descriptions, family names, perfumer bios — is available in each supported language. Pass the appropriate language parameter and the experience adapts to your market.

Brand customization

Every ScentXP product can be customized to match your brand:
  • Visual identity — colors, fonts, logos, imagery
  • Tone of voice — ScentBot adapts its conversational style to your brand
  • Catalog scope — recommendations are limited to your assortment
  • Content selection — choose which data points to display (ingredients, families, perfumers, etc.)

Support

ScentXP provides ongoing support for all integrations:
  • Technical support — assistance with integration, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Training — for in-store staff and beauty advisors (for retail technologies)
  • Maintenance — automatic updates and monitoring
  • Remote assistance — for both digital and physical installations
  • Intelligence dashboards — real-time access to usage data and insights
